OUR MISSION STATEMENT
TO PROVIDE QUALITY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR STUDENTS IN A POSITIVE AND SAFE MANNER WITH A COMMITMENT TO SERVICE AND EXCELLENCE.
EDUCATION BEGINS WITH TRANSPORTATION The transportation department provides safe and reliable
transportationfor the students of Festus R-VI School District.
Currently, the transportation department has a total of 32
regular bus drivers and 7 on-call bus drivers – all of whom
safely transport over 1000 students every day. There are
19 regular education buses and 5 special services routes.
The transportation department maintains a fleet of 34 buses,
6 mini vans, 5 pick-up trucks and a host of support vehicles
and equipment. The department’s fleet supervisor Larry
Patterson, who has 20 plus years of experience, oversees the
maintenance and care of our fleet. Our drivers assist the shop
and show their Tiger pride by maintaining clean and tidy buses.
Transportation is provided for eligible students in Pre-K and Grades
K-12. Bus serviceis provided in two tiers, Grades 6-12 and K-5.
