Festus School Board Approves Revised Return to School Plan
Launch the media gallery 1 playerAt its regular meeting on December 16 2021, the Festus R-VI School Board approved a revised "Return to School Plan" for the 2nd Semester of the 2021-2022 school year. Facial coverings will remain optional for all students and staff. The two most significant changes are 1) persons considered close contacts to a positive COVID-19 case will no longer be REQUIRED to quarantine. Close contacts to positive cases within a household are strongly encouraged to quarantine, however, it will not be required. 2) the thresholds that would require a return to mandated masks have been removed. This will allow the District more flexibility in implementing mitigation strategies should an outbreak occur in school. The revised plan can be found here.
