At its monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 16, the Festus R-VI Board of Education approved changes to the 2021-2022 school calendar and approved the calendar for the 2022-2023 school year.
2021-2022 Calendar Changes: The board approved a change to the 2021-2022 calendar to allow for a virtual learning day on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. This is a municipal election in the City of Festus. The Festus Middle School is a voting location. In an effort to provide more safety to students and staff, students will NOT attend school in-person on Tuesday, April 5, but will learn from home using one of the District's AMI days. In addition, Monday, April 4 is now a non-attendance day for students. School will NOT be in session on Monday, April 4.

2022-2023 Calendar: The calendar for the 2022-2023 school year approved by the Board of Education has a school start date of Monday, August 22.
Election Day, Tuesday, November 8 with be a Professional Development day for teachers and a non-attendance day for students.
Winter break begins with an early release on Wednesday, December 21.
Classes resume on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
A mini-spring break will be from March 9-14, 2023.
Last day of school is scheduled from Friday, May 19, 2023.
