Mrs. Jodi Bruns 7th Grade Science Teacher
Festus Middle School Science Teacher Mrs. Jodi Bruns is the Festus R-VI School District's Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award Winner. Mrs. Bruns has been teaching at Festus Middle School for 17 years. Middle School principal Jacob Munoz says, "Mrs. Bruns has held numerous teaching and leadership positions throughout her years at Festus Middle School. She has a passion for teaching and working with Middle School students. She has mentored many new teachers, and is a resource among her peers at FMS. She spends time creating and executing frequent lab lessons so that her students get the full hands-on experience in her Science classes. Mrs. Bruns is a well-rounded, experienced educator who loves her students and her profession. She is a resource to all of her colleagues and is always willing to offer humble advice through her years of experience in the profession."
The Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award is sponsored by Emerson Electric. In the next few weeks, Mrs. Bruns will receive a special crystal apple award. Look for her in the Festus Homecoming parade on October 6.
